There are several ways this can be caused. If the service(s) can’t find the the encoded installation list: see “I’m getting an “Installation list not found” error. What do I do?”.
If you’re getting an Ldap error when retrieving the groups from the domain/AD your computer might not have an active network connection yet or there are insufficient permissions to retrieve the groups from AD.
When using a service account instead of the Local System account you need to check the following: make sure the account has rights to start as a service, you’re using the correct username and/or password for the service account or that the service account has insufficient permissions. Note: we highly recommend to use the System account to start the service(s).
Sometimes virus scanners can cause the service(s) to be interrupted. When troubleshooting please temporarily disable the virus scanner to make sure it’s not interrupting the ESD service(s).
